The Camping Experience:

At a height of about 3200 ft, Kohoj lies off Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway. Little remains of this fort, which is believed to have been built during the Bhoj period. The fort is said to be about 800 years old and finds a mention in the Purandar treaty along with 22 other forts which were surrendered by Shivaji to the Mughals on 11 June 1665. While camping, a lake and a pinnacle are the attractions on top.

Off the Mumbai-Ahmedabad highway, this camping trek to Kohoj takes you to a beautiful place with great views and mesmerising lakes nearby.

Day 1 – Drive up to base village

– Report at Sion Circle in the afternoon around 1 PM – Private Transport towards the Base Village (Waghote Village) – Introduction and Instruction Session – Start Ascend (3 Hrs Trek) – Camp for the night in tents
Day 2 – See the fort and descend
– Have breakfast on top of the fort – Explore the fort – Start to descend – Drive back to Mumbai
