Gibbon WLS

Rich in Biodiversity, covering an area of only 20.63 sq km, the Gibbon WLS is home to India’s only Apes, the Western Hoolock Gibbon and North-eastern India’s only nocturnal primate, the Bengal Slow Lorris which is unquestionably a precious jewel of the Indian forest. In addition to this rare species, the sanctuary houses the Stump tailed Macaque, Assamese Macaque, rhesus macaque, Capped Langur, Indian Elephant, Tiger, Leopard, Jungle cat, wild boar, Four types of squirrel, almost 219 bird species and several species of snakes.
